A student organization applying for registration at Florida State University
Take an idea all the way to a finished app.
Claude Code Society teaches FSU students to build real software with Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool. We learn by building, and you don't need to have written code before.
Weekly meetings in the fall and spring. Meeting times are posted once the semester schedule is set.
Build a site that shows which study rooms are free near my next class.

How a year in the Society will go
Learn the tool, build something of your own, show it, and if it's ready, get help putting it in front of people.
- Step 1
Learn
Eight build sessions each semester take you from setup and first prompts to running several AI agents on one project.
- Step 2
Build
Pick one idea and build it with Claude Code, week by week, until it's live and you can walk someone through how it works.
- Step 3
Show
Demo it at meetings, enter a judged competition, and present it at Demo Day in the spring.
- Step 4
Launch
If your app is ready, we'll introduce you to student organizations that can help you launch and grow it.
What we're planning
Everything we do
Build meetings
The eight-session starter track every semester, plus time to work on your own project.

Anthropic Academy, together
We plan to work through Anthropic Academy's free online courses as a group. The Academy gives completion certificates.

Competitions and hackathons
A judged project competition each semester and a hackathon in the spring. Entry will be free.

Guest speakers
We're aiming for at least two talks a year, one of them co-hosted with another student organization.

Demos and Demo Day
Show what you built. Other members try it as users and tell you what they found.

Launch help
When an app is ready, an introduction to student organizations that help people launch things.
Where things stand
The Society is new. Here's what happens, in order.
Applying for registration
We're applying to register Claude Code Society with FSU's Office of Student Organizations & Involvement.
Sign-up opens
Once registration is approved, students join through the Society's page on FSU HQ.
First meetings and events
Meeting times and the first events go up on the Events page once the semester schedule is set.

Join the Society
Any currently enrolled FSU student can join, and it's free. Sign-up opens on FSU HQ once our registration is approved. There's no pledge, no initiation and no new member period.
