How competitions will work

We're planning one judged project competition each semester and a hackathon in the spring. The rules for each one are written down and posted before it opens, so everyone knows the deadline and the judging date from day one.

Judging

Judges score every entry against the published criteria. Winners are never picked by chance.

Nobody judges a team they're on or a team they advise.

Prizes

The club doesn't pay cash or gift card prizes out of its own money.

We plan to look for sponsors for the spring hackathon. A sponsor has to be approved through FSU's sponsorship process first, and then it awards its prize directly to the winners under its own terms. Prizes, if any, are listed on each competition's rules page. Until a sponsor is approved, winners may get certificates.

Ready to build?

Competitions will be open to any currently enrolled FSU student, member or not.
