The year we're planning, semester by semester
Pick a semester, then tap or click any stop to see what it is. Nothing is booked yet: dates and rooms go up here once FSU approves our registration and rooms are reserved. Events are for currently enrolled FSU students, and FSU faculty and staff can take part too.
The planned calendar
First general meeting
Meet the founding officers, hear how the year will run, and get set up for the starter track.
- When and where
- Posted here once registration is approved and a room is booked
- Bring
- A laptop

Starter track, sessions 1 to 8
One session a week, from setup and first prompts to shipping and review.
- When and where
- At the weekly meeting, once the semester schedule is set

Fall project competition
Build something, submit it by the deadline, and judges score it against the published criteria. Entry is free. The rules page, with the deadline and judging date, goes up before it opens.
How competitions work
Guest speaker
We're aiming for at least two talks this year, with at least one co-hosted with another registered student organization. No speaker is booked yet; we'll name them here once they're confirmed.

Co-hosted event
We plan to co-host at least one event each semester with another registered student organization. Nothing has been agreed with any group yet.
Running a student organization?
Starter track, sessions 1 to 8
The same eight sessions run again, so new members can start in the spring.
- When and where
- At the weekly meeting, once the semester schedule is set

Spring hackathon
Build something from scratch in a set time. Entry is free, and the rules are posted before it opens. We plan to look for sponsors to fund prizes; any sponsor is approved through FSU first and awards its prizes directly to the winners.
Rules and prizes
Spring project competition
The second judged competition of the year, in the same format as the fall one.
How competitions work
Guest speaker
The year's second planned talk. No speaker is booked yet.

Demo Day
Members show the projects they finished this year. A finished project is live, built by the member, with a short project page.

Board elections
Members vote for next year's officers by secret ballot at a general meeting in April. Nominations open two weeks before, and you can nominate yourself.
